What Makes a Great Ally?

We curate women of exceptional caliber—leaders you know well and would confidently vouch for—who both contribute to and benefit from the discourse, generosity, and collaboration inside The What Alliance. Our Allies are big thinkers and doers. They’re impact-driven, values-led, and deeply curious. They transcend categories, shift mindsets, and create change—often in ways that meaningfully improve the lives of women.

We’re currently prioritizing leaders with experience in:
Venture, Series A Founders, C-Suite Executives, AI builders, Engineering, Finance, and Women’s Health. (At this time, we are not accepting executive coaches.)

When evaluating, we ask:

• Is she diverse in perspective, background, or experience?

• Is her work tied to a larger purpose or public good?

• Does she embody generosity, integrity, kindness, and openness?

• Is she an expert—or a category-creator—in her field?

• Can her insight and network strengthen the collective?

• Will she show up to connect, not pitch?

• And—simply—would you want to spend time with her?

If you’re answering “yes” to most of the above, we invite you to submit a nomination. Once approved by our membership committee, we’ll kindly ask you to make the introduction.
